Elisabeth’s Happy Playlist

Sunday, March 23rd, 2008

As promised in my book Feeling Better Quickly, I’m going to share my Happy Playlist with you right here on my blog. These are songs I play when I need cheering up or just because. I also often play them when I am already feeling good.

Please note that some of my favorite songs are German — that’s where I grew up and so I have a particularly strong emotional connection to some of the songs that made me feel good when I was young(er).

Some of them might not even be particularly obvious as happy songs — must have something to do with what happened in my life when I used to listen to them that I now, consciously or subconsciously associate with them. There are other songs not yet on that list because I haven’t been able to find electronic versions of them — yet.

Anyway, here they are, in no particular order, or rather, more or less in the order in which they arrived in my iTunes and I was able to add them:

All You Need Is Love (Beatles)

I Want to Hold Your Hand (Beatles)

Staying Alive (Bee Gees)

Saturday Night Fever (Bee Gees)

Pretty Woman (Roy Orbison)

Positive Vibrations (Bob Marley)

Sunshine of Your Love (Cream)

Radar Love (Golden Earring)

Samba Pa Ti (Santana)

Black Magic Woman (Santana)

Satisfaction (Rolling Stones)

Honky Tonk Woman (Rolling Stones)

I Want You (Bob Dylan)

Pop Muzik (M)

Rebel Rebel (David Bowie)

Jean Genie (David Bowie)

Magic Man (Heart)

Something (Beatles)

Come Together (Beatles)

I’m not in Love (10 cc)

Whisky in the Jar (Thin Lizzy)

All Things Are Possible (Darlene Zschech (Gospel from Australia)

Joy Joy Joy (Francine Jarry/Abraham-Hicks)

Aber Dich gibt’s nur einmal fuer mich (Flippers)

Listen to the Music (Doobie Brothers)

Flashdance (What a Feeling) (Irene Cara)

Try (Just A Little Bit Harder) Janis Joplin

Celebration (Kool & the Gang)

Financially Free (Lauren Lane Powell)

Manifesting Money (Lauren Lane Powell)

My Emergency “Get Happy Quickly” Toolbox & How To Use It

Sunday, March 23rd, 2008

Oh dear! It’s been an incredibly crazy couple of weeks. Good thing I get to use all the tricks in my toolbox any time I like!

Murphy’s Law abounded. Or so it felt anyway. I should have known better — things do tend to take longer and need more double-checking than I expect.

And I’m still not finished. I’m planning to slicken up that sales page for my Get Happy Quickly Ebook. It still looks a whole lot less slick than I wish it did. But at least it’s working.

And my shiny new affiliate program (I can hardly believe I have one!) had a few snafus too. But true to form, after sorting them out, I immediately wrote it up and sent it over to ezinearticles.com :)

So what’s next? Advertise! I had been wondering about how I’m going to get the word out when I discovered a special offer on Avery Berman’s new book that I really wanted to buy (that kid is GOOD!) so I bought it (the book is as cool as all his stuff (MySpace video and Craigslist video is what I had before), and so is the third video that I now own: It’s on AdBrite! I felt so inspired that I immediately went there and bought a couple of ads. I can hardly wait to find out what’ll happen!

Adbrite is great because it’s way cheaper than Google Adwords. Or is it Adsense? I always get the two mixed up. Anyway, check it out if you like:

And I’ll tell you more about Avery’s cool new book once I’ve finished reading it (shouldn’t be long!)

In the meantime, if you haven’t already, please (pretty please) check out my own new book: Feel Better Quickly: Emergency Rescue Toolbox for your Mood.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Elisabeth

P.S.: My newest project: A series of articles about Aromatherapy, plus a booklet (to give away — yes, all my subscribers will get one), and probably an ebook I’ll sell.

I really like aromatherapy and use it all the time. I did manage to wean myself off the Zzzonked aromatherapy I used for several years to help me fall asleep. I still sometimes find it hard to believe that I’m sleeping just fine without it these days.

So let’s see… what aromas are the best ones to help you fall asleep: Personally, I really like Lavender. Jasmine is also very calming. Pair with an herbal relaxing tea and you may well sleep like a baby. More to follow another time…

How to Get Happy(er) Fast! My Emergency Mood Rescue Toolbox Is Finally On Sale!

Saturday, March 8th, 2008

Stressed? Depressed? Don’t put up with it. You CAN make yourself feel better fast.

How? Just get a copy of my emotional emergency rescue toolbox and start using it, and before you know it, you’ll feel MUCH better.

And all that for the price of, oh, 10 minutes of therapy perhaps. Maybe 15. Or a few pills of Taxol. Or a movie and popcorn for one.

And what do you get? A toolbox that lets you take charge of your emotions for years to come.

Not bad, is it?

Just click on this cute little teddybear and check it out:

Okay, as you can see, the sales page is there and functional, though not the flashiest one on the web. I’ll work on upgrading it some more. But I’m just so thrilled anyway that I’ve got it going.

And I’ve even set up the shopping cart system, and the automatic delivery of the ebook. And it’s working!!!

You’d have to know what a technophobe I was less then 2 years ago to really appreciate this.

Anyway. Give it a try. You can check it out right here:

Elisabeth’s Emergency Mood Rescue Kit

Take a look. Click on the the teddy bear above. Read the book. Feel better…

And if you like it, please let me know. Especially if I can use it as a testimonial ;-)

Now I’m off to make myself another mug of spiced hot chocolate. Yummm.

I hope you’ll have a wonderful evening.

Elisabeth

Feeling Better — working yourself out of the dumps Pt. 3

Wednesday, February 6th, 2008

Want to feel better? Especially when you have one of those days?

I still have them on a fairly regular basis (not nearly as often as I used to though). I guess they come with the territory when I insist on not playing things safe all the time…

So I have plenty of first-hand experience with working my way out of the dumps — and I’m happy to say that I’m MUCH better at it than I used to be. I get out of the hole so much faster, and I remember much more quickly that yes, I can do something about that, and then do it.

So if I supply you with self-help info, it’s because I have tested all those things myself. Obviously, as always, your mileage may vary, but there’s enough of a range that some of the tools should help. Just find your favorites… and/or add them to the ones you’re already using.

I also want to add, that these are not necessarily solutions to the problem that causes the stress. That will still need to be dealt with. However, it is much easier to deal with problems and challenges when one is not in the middle of a panic attack, so these tips along with any future ones are meant to help put you in a better frame of mind — so you will be able to achieve what you want to achieve much more effectively.

There’s also the issue of the Law of Attraction, another reason why it’s important not to wallow in misery lest you draw even more of it.

Here are a few easy and obvious techniques to start with (though there will be much fancier ones in upcoming parts of this series — as well as in my newsletter):

1. Chocolate. ;-) (I’m serious. It seems to trigger endorphins in the brain. Just be sure not to OD.)

2. A walk in the park (or on the beach, or anywhere else, preferably outdoors, that you enjoy)

3. A hug. If nobody suitable is nearby, try a phonecall with a friend.

4. A movie that makes you happy and/or laugh, preferably both. A few years back, when I went through chemo and got quite depressed at times, I prescribed myself a happy movie a day. It made a HUGE difference.

5. A first aid kit containing a collection of favorite comics, cartoons, and jokes

6. A good meal, preferably with a friend. But even a good solo meal can make you feel better (try fresh flowers for company). Consider having your favorite comfort food. That’s why they call it comfort food! Just see above.

7. Hot chocolate. Marshmallows or whipped cream optional

8. A hot bath or even a shower

9. A nap

10. Pet a cat (or dog, or bunny rabbit, etc.)

Okay, those were some of the basic ones. I’ve got lots more where these came from. In fact, I’m working on an ebook on the topic, and it’s getting closer to completion. But that doesn’t mean I won’t tell you more tips and techniques.

Look for Pt. 4 very soon, with a number of much fancier tools you may or may not have heard of.

Have a great day!

P.S.: For a much more elaborate technique for working yourself out of the dumps one step at a time see Pt. 1 and 2 of the series (just click on Abraham-Hicks in the categories list on the right and scroll down a bit. You can also find them under A Happier Life, but you’ll have to scroll all the way down AND go to “previous entries,” and then they’ll be near the bottom of the new page.

P.P.S.: For more out-of-the-dumps info, sign up for my newsletter, which features more detailed descriptions of some of my favorite techniques on reducing stress and on raising your vibration.

P.P.P.S.: Please note that these tips are not intended to replace therapy or proper medical attention if that is what you might need. They will make a nice supplement though even in that case.

More Self-Help and Self-Growth Websites :-)

Tuesday, January 22nd, 2008

I’ve just discovered yet another amazing self-growth website, and it’s aptly named www.SelfGrowth.com. Go take a look (but don’t forget to come back ;-)

What a wealth of great articles. I’ll be spending quite a bit of quality time over there and also plan to add a few of my own articles to their site!

Tomorrow, I’ll tell you about yet another favorite site I recently discovered (very different from the above, but equally amazing — I think tney complement each other beautifully), so check back soon to get the scoop.

Continued:

Okay, so it’s a week later… Here is finally the other blog I wanted to tell you about: www.stevepavlina.com.

It’s the ultimate personal growth blog, and my role model. When my blog grows up, it wants to be like Steve Pavlina’s blog! ;-)

Happy New Year! Here’s To An Amazing 2008! And Thank You For Coming Along For The Ride!

Friday, January 4th, 2008

Happy New Year, Dearest Reader!

You probably have no idea how much I appreciate you.

This blog has been an exciting journey since I started it just a few months ago, and it promises to get more exciting yet.
I thank you for being part of it. For reading my sometimes quirky and definitely quite meandering musings, resources, and recommendations, and for signing up for my newsletter.

I appreciate you for coming along for the ride as I ricochet back and forth between the Abraham, the Law of Attraction, and stress management, between resources for learning how to set up own websites and blogs and even for developing your own product (all in the service of prosperity of course) and a handy quick recipe for impressive chocolate-covered miniature cream puffs (yum!).

The danger with the latter is that now that I know how to make them, I’m constantly tempted to whip up another batch, even when there’s no party in sight that might require their presence. Hmmm. I could make some for my students ;-)

You probably know that on the internet, “niche” is king, and, well, this blog is anything but niche. It’s a veritable anti-niche blog, but then, I’m very much an anti-niche person.

When I first came to the United States to go to graduate school, I was absolutely amazed at the range of opportunities in this land of the free. I loved it! This is why I’m still here. This was a land where I did not have to choose either/or but where it was possible to do both/AND, plus then some more. I’ve always enjoyed doing several different things, and so I figurfe why stop now.

So I thank you for reading this and for being part of my blog. Do let me know if there’s something you particularly enjoy, or something you’d like to read (more) about. You can always send me an email at “supportATmyfavoriteselfhelpstuff.com”

If you’re getting my emails, you can also just hit “reply” and I will get your message.

Meanwhile, I wish you (and all of us) much happiness, excellent health, and fabulous success.

Elisabeth

P.S.: And here’s a great big thank you to Erik Stafford, the Faster Webmaster, for teaching me how to build my very first website, without which none of this would have been possible:

Happy Holidays!

Tuesday, December 25th, 2007

I wish you all very happy holidays and many blessings.

I was going to post a happy-making YouTube Video, but unfortunately, it caused problems with the formatting of my blog and completely ruined the lay-out.

So here’s what I will do: I’ll post it on a Squidoo lens!

Specifics TBA. For now, check out my primary Squidoo lens. I’ll post an update once I have the video up.

Well, I put it up, but on a new lens secret2happiness because I just couldn’t part with the video I have on my primary selfhelpstuff Squidoo lens (Esther on a rampage on going with the flow).

Well, gosh, while I’m plugging my new lenses, check out my Abraham lens as well. Another great video! Won’t tell you what’s on it. You gotta look!

Meanwhile, I hope your holidays are filled with bliss and love!

Elisabeth
